In today’s work environments, the most common problem of employer is absenteeism which they are not aware that even those employees who is physically present but unable to perform at their best will brings negative result in any Organization.
What is Presenteeism?
Presenteeism is defined when an employee is physically present at work but functionally absent. It occurs when a person stays at work even when they are not fully focused and productive because of illness (personal health) and life problem distractions (emotional disturbance). It may also include those times when an individual works excessively longs hours but fails to function at peak capacity. Presenteeism manifests itself in many ways, such as lack of focus, accidents and mistakes, interpersonal difficulties, poor work skills and production problems.
